What is Project Masked Heroes?
Project Masked Heroes is asking for your help during the COVID-19 pandemic to support essential workers and organizations! I’ve started this initiative to produce homemade cloth masks to be distributed to places that have a dire need due to global shortages. Many essential workers are working closely with infected persons and by not having adequate gear, are putting themselves at risk of contracting the virus. While cloth masks are not as effective as medical grade masks, they are able to provide a protective layer of defense and many organizations have requested assistance.
How can you get involved?
There are many ways to support our mission! First, we are in need of fabric donations in order to produce the masks. Materials that work best are cotton-like fabrics, which can be from old T-shirts or other clothes and a single T-shirt is able to make upwards of 10 masks (so every donation makes a huge difference!). Next, if you are willing, we can provide information on how to make the masks at home and completed masks can also be donated. Finally, if you are unable to help in the above ways, please share this article so that it can reach others who can help!
